BOSTON, MA September 22, 2015 –With a newly elected Board of Directors and Executives, The Vietnamese Community of Massachusetts is now prepared to enter their 12th term (2015 – 2018). On Sunday August 9, 2015, the Vietnamese Community of Massachusetts held elections at St. Mark Church

in Dorchester and elected a new Board of Directors, new Board of Overseers, new President and Vice-President. Present during the election were a variety of local leaders within the Vietnamese business and cultural community. The event was covered by local Vietnamese news agencies. The election results are as follows:


EXECUTIVE:

President elect: Vinnie Bao-Toan Than

Vice-President elect: Khang Hung Nguyen


BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

Toan Tan Nguyen, President

Bryant Tran, Vice-president

Trinh Duyen Huynh, General Secretary


BOARD OF OVERSEERS:

Khanh Thanh Pham

Dam Le

Tan Nhu Pham


The newly elected President and Vice-president formed their cabinet and presented the nominees to the Board of Directors for approval on Sunday September 13, 2015. The following individuals comprise the new cabinet:

Vinnie Bao-Toan Than, President

Khang Hung Nguyen, Vice-president of Internal Affairs

Binh Thanh Nguyen, Vice-president of External Affairs

Dao Van Le, General Secretary

Dieu Phan, General Treasurer and Financial Planner

Laurie Thai and Henry Nguyen, Co-chairs of Community Activities

Hong Tran, Legal Counsel

Daniel Tung Lam, Media Chair

Chau Kelley, Political Chair

Oanh Kim Lac and Tiffany Lac, Co-Chairs of Youth and Student Activities


The Vietnamese community wishes to thank all of these officials who volunteer their time and energy to serve their community. By stepping into these positions they will be working with city officials and governmental agencies to help strengthen our community and maintain our economic and cultural vitality.
